Josiah
Josiah Character Analysis
Josiah was one of the most righteous kings in the history of ancient Israel. He ascended the throne at the age of eight after his father, Amon, was assassinated. Josiah was the son of King Amon and Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah from Bozkath. His reign extended from 640 to 609 BCE, a period marked by significant religious, political, and economic events in Judah.
Under the influence of the Prophetess Huldah, Josiah worked tirelessly to root out idolatry and re-establish the worship of Yahweh in his kingdom. He encountered the book of the law during his renovation of the Temple of Jerusalem and consequently, introduced religious reforms through a covenant designed to strengthen the nation's religious faith.
In his quest to purge the kingdom of pagan deities, he destroyed the shrines of Baal and Asherah, and an altar in Beth-el, which Jeroboam had built, and the golden calf that was worshipped there. He also slaughtered the priests of the high places on their own altars and demolished the houses of the cult prostitutes, making Jerusalem and the surrounding territories the exclusive home for Jewish religious worship.
Josiah was also an accomplished military strategist, and his reign was characterized by successful military campaigns. He sought to expand his kingdom's boundaries by collapsing a confederation of several smaller states around him, most notably the Kingdom of Israel, which had been weakened by internal strife and conflict. His death in battle against the Egyptians, however, signaled the beginning of the Babylonian captivity, and the consequent of destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem.

These characteristics can be seen in Josiah's actions and decisions as he takes great care to follow and enforce the laws and commandments of Judaism. He also takes measures to restore the temple and worship practices according to the guidelines set out in the Torah.
Furthermore, ISTJs are known for their methodical approach to problem-solving, which is evident in Josiah's actions when he sends out officials to gather money and oversee the repair and cleansing of the temple.
In conclusion, while it is difficult to definitively determine a character's MBTI personality type, based on Josiah's behavior and traits, he appears to be an ISTJ. His practicality, responsibility, focus on tradition, and methodical approach to problem-solving all align with the characteristics of this personality type.
