Dragan Nikolić was a legendary Serbian actor who was born on August 20, 1943, in the village of Zemun Polje, located in Belgrade, Serbia. He enrolled at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade when he was only 18, and soon after, he embarked on a successful acting career that would last for three decades. Nikolić became one of the most recognizable figures in the Serbian film industry, with more than 150 film, television, and stage appearances to his name. Nikolić's breakthrough role came in the 1967 film "The Birds, the Orphans and the Madmen," directed by Aleksandar Petrović. He went on to star in several other popular films, such as "Love and Fashion" (1960), "The Beach Guard in Winter" (1976), and "The Marathon Family" (1982). In 1991, Nikolić won the Best Actor Award at the Moscow International Film Festival for his role in the film "Tito and Me." Aside from his film career, Nikolić was also renowned for his theater performances. He was a member of the National Theater in Belgrade for many years and played in several notable productions, including "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov and "The Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov. In addition, he was a regular on the television series "Better Life," which aired from 1987 to 1991. Dragan Nikolić was not only a famous actor but also a beloved public figure in Serbia. He was known for his warm personality, sharp wit, and devotion to his craft.
