Susheela's versatile singing career spans over six decades, during which she has sung thousands of songs in various languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, and Sinhalese.
Susheela's journey into music began at a young age, and she started receiving formal training in classical music during her teenage years. Her exceptional talent was recognized when she won a music competition at the age of twelve, leading to significant opportunities in the industry. In the early 1950s, she made her playback debut in the Telugu film industry and steadily rose to prominence with her soulful renditions. She went on to establish herself as one of the most prolific and sought-after playback singers in the South Indian film industry, working with renowned composers like Ghantasala, M.S.
