Box started her career as a scriptwriter, working on various films during the 1940s. She then transitioned to producing and formed her own production company, The Adventures of Margaret Films, in 1950. One of Box's most prominent collaborations was with her brother, Sydney Box, a respected film producer and director. Not limited to producing films, Betty Box was also involved in the promotion and growth of the British film industry. She served as the Vice-President of the British Film Producers Association and was a Council Member for both the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) and BFI (British Film Institute). Throughout her career, Box produced over 40 films, and her talent was acknowledged with various awards, including the BAFTA Special Award in 1976 and the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 1990 for her contributions to the British film industry.
