Meeting a fiend on the street: what do you do?

Let's say it's 2am and you're going home from work. You walk through the street, and as it happens no one else is around. We can't have a horror setting without the solitude lol. You look across the street and there's something standing in the shadow, looking back at you. You can recognise the silhouette - it's the monster you always thought imaginary.
