Ben Feleo is a renowned Filipino film director, screenwriter and producer who rose to fame in the post-war era of Philippine cinema. Feleo started his career as an actor during the early 1950s but it was his talent behind the camera that made him a household name.
Feleo was born on October 27, 1930, in Lilio, Laguna, Philippines. He studied at the Ateneo de Manila University but dropped out in his senior year to pursue a career in show business. His early works include Boksingero (1953) and Ulilang Anghel (1958), among others. However, it was his collaboration with Dolphy, a famous Filipino comedian, that propelled him to success. Their movies together, such as "Facifica Falayfay" and "Jack and Jill," are still considered as classics in Philippine cinema.
In addition to his work in films, Feleo also ventured into television production. He co-founded RVQ Productions, a production company that created several popular TV shows. He directed the sitcom "John en Marsha" from 1973 to 1986, which starred Dolphy and Nida Blanca, and is considered as one of the longest-running and most successful TV shows in Philippine history. Feleo continued to work on films and TV shows until his death on July 14, 2010, in Quezon City, Philippines.
