Anime or Manga first?

I started reading Cardcaptor Sakura first and then when I saw there was an anime for it, that was it. Now all I do is watch anime.

I usually read the manga first then watch it if I really enjoyed. Anime usually cuts out stuff (sometimes the best parts). Besides manga comes out more frequent than an anime so you can keep seeing how things unfold instead of waiting a year+ just to see what's next. Though it is fun seeing how different the anime is from the manga, Either character design or even plot. Sometimes very little difference others extreme

I've never actually tried manga. A lot of my enjoyment comes from the music arrangements in anime which obviously aren't present in manga. However, for series' that I REALLY like I've started becoming more interested in trying out the manga as the anime usually deviate from the source material or are incomplete in some way.

I'll say Anime first as most of anime series are a visual review of the mangas, that at the same time have the same interaction with light novels. Still now a days it has happened to me that they release new anime series which I have already readed the manga or I'm currently doing so, and I just watch the anime for curiosity, mostly to know how they managed to do the scenes that are supposed to have a lot of movements like duels, chaisings... or for the music, environment of the scenes...

Anime tends to set the pacing the way the author had intended so I usually just stick with that anime, unless the studio that produced it absolutely botched it...

I usually just enjoy one or the other.

Now some manga haven't been adapted to anime and are absolutely phenomenal. Psyren, Gamaran, and The Breaker are a few I'd highly recommend

Mangas are usually better than the adaption. On the other hand you can chill more and concentrate less if it's anime + it's cool to see characters move, the chosen seiyus, music etc

Manga first for me, always.
There's something about reading a manga and letting your imagination bring the pages to life - filling up the spaces inbetween and you can never recreate with animes. And sometimes the art and voices in anime disappoint me.

Also, i know some people cant visualize in their minds (which is wild to me, like just words? Yo!) So itd probably be a lot different when reading a manga for those types.
