Winky is sad. To tell the truth, I think Winky has been sad for years now. I created Winky many years ago. Now and then, I've tried to improve his design and/or make him easier to draw. Sometimes, I shrink and separate his eyes. That makes him easier to draw, but I'm stubborn and want to keep his big eyes next to each other. I'm not sure if I ever gave Winky a personality, though. I mean, sort of, but probably not. I guess it's easier to use him as a stand in for myself if he's a blank slate. Sorry for the rambling. My mom passed away about a month ago. I don't like talking about it or mentioning it, because it seems to make it more real, the more I do. I kept hoping this was just a terrible nightmare and I would wake up any minute now. But I know the loss is real. I know my mom was a good person who left good memories and values in me and many other people. Her body may be gone, but her love still lives inside of me. It's just hard for me to see any rainbow of hope at the moment.
