In every era of technological upheaval, there is a temptation for industry leaders to convince themselves that efficiency alone is the goal. Replace the slow with the fast, the expensive with the cheap, the human with the machine. But there is a lesson tucked into the early pages of industrial America that still echoes today. Henry Ford, a man not known for his softness, understood something most modern executives pretend not to see. When he doubled wages on his assembly line, he did it not out of charity, but out of a cold, strategic truth. A company thrives when the people who build the product can also afford to buy the product. An economy thrives when prosperity circulates, not when it pools in a few locked vaults. That principle has not expired with the arrival of artificial intelligence. If anything, it has grown sharper. AI is a remarkable tool. It enhances creativity, expands capabilities, and removes barriers that once slowed human work. It has the power to amplify the output of entire industries, to solve problems that were once immovable, and to open doors for smaller creators, innovators, and professionals who were previously drowned out by corporate noise. But like any powerful tool, AI doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It lives inside an economy built on human participation. People work, people earn, people buy. This cycle is fragile, and it depends on the simple fact that someone somewhere must take home a paycheck. If companies treat AI as a total replacement rather than a collaborator, they risk severing their own lifeline. A machine can generate content or assemble goods, but it cannot walk into a store and make a purchase. It does not pay rent, buy groceries, or save for retirement. It cannot stimulate an economy. It cannot sustain demand. If a corporation replaces nearly every worker with AI, they may celebrate their short-term savings, but the long-term consequence is a consumer base running dry. A handful of executives and investors might accumulate staggering wealth, but the rest of society will struggle to obtain even the basics. And when the majority cannot afford discretionary products, the entire market withers. Businesses cannot survive on a customer base made up of only the ultra-wealthy. That model has never worked in history, and it will not suddenly work now. The irony is devastating. In an attempt to maximize profit by removing the worker, a company removes the very person who would have funded its success. The economy requires participation, diversity of income, and the stability that comes from millions of individuals having the ability to purchase goods. Without that, the system begins to collapse under its own imbalance. AI cannot replace the fundamental economic truth that prosperity must be distributed widely enough to keep markets alive. This doesn’t mean rejecting technological progress. It means recognizing that humans and AI must operate together. People need work. They need wages. They need dignity. And the companies that understand this will not only survive the next century, they will lead it. AI should lift humanity, not hollow the middle class. It should expand opportunity, not erase it. If businesses embrace AI as an enhancement rather than a replacement, they create a future where innovation thrives alongside human stability. But if they forget the Ford lesson and chase efficiency at the cost of societal participation, they will discover that an economy with no workers is an economy with no customers. And once that happens, even the most sophisticated machine will have no one left to serve.

If you don't mind saying so, what are your favorite AI is to use and for what purpose? 🤔 For example I personally use chatGPT on a daily basis for a myriad of things.
