Good evening J. I'm not a man but I do have some insight if you're open to it. Honestly i think the biggest issue with a broken heart is that people forget that they're grieving. Sure no one died, but it's still a huge loss of someone you care for deeply. You're going to be sad and angry. You'll try to think and rethink what went wrong. All of those feelings are normal and the fastest way through them is to acknowledge and accept them. I find that focusing on some of the things you love that maybe you didn't do as much in the relationship really helps. Maybe you played a little less golf, or spent a little less time at the beach because you made room in your life for your ex. Getting back to the things that make you feel like you is the key, and patience with yourself (which is the part im terrible at). Grief takes time, but by accepting and moving through those feelings it will be a lot less painful than fighting it.
