Usually it's the bird calls I notice first; a lot of birds are rather camouflaged here. But hearing a chiffchaff chirp? You bet I'll stop and scan the trees to spot the little sweetheart!

I say that those who blend in with the environment are less noticeable.

Birds usually use the color of their plumage to attract a mate.

I love swans. By sound I enjoy mockingbirds the most.

I listen out for crows, I have a group near me that has taken a shine to me, one who I call Craw walks with me to the shops and my home (no not fly while I walk, actually walks)

A lot, it also has more to do with the patterns and accents of different colors on the same bird.

As the grandson of a ornithologist and a conservationist normally I notice the movement first. Colour doesn’t really matter to me it’s the way the birds move that I like to watch. But if I’m doing art i tend to go for brightly coloured birds or Birds of Prey.
