Anything by Jim Butcher- The Dresden Files is a great modern fantasy series, The Codex Alera is medieval fantasy series, and The Cinder Spires is more of a steampunk-esk fantasy series, though there is only one book so far.

The Atlas Six by Olivia Blake is really good modern fantasy. I've fallen in love with Altered Carbon and The Expanse as far as Sci Fi is concerned. If you're into D&D I recommend the R.A. Salvatore books, too

The Magicians (first in a trilogy) is great. There's a TV show based on it but it strays a lot, and the books are great. Starts off like HP in college but then gets a little more Narnia but very well written.
