Signal to noise by Eric Nylund. It's a scifi book about finding a message in a transmission in space where there should only be noise. It was an interesting book for me.

The Count of Monte Cristo. I really enjoyed reading the character Edmond Dantes’ growth and how the character thought. If you consider web novels too, I’ll add Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint as well. The use of history and mythology as part of the main game in the story is fascinating.
