Stephen King - The King of Horror

Question

I have decided to try to read all (or majority) of stephen king novels. I have read The Shining & Later. Recently, I did some book shopping - picked up carrie, salems lot, and misery.

My recommendation is that you pick up a few of his anthologies (collection of short stories).

As a writer he's quite prolific, and I once read that he writes a chapter every day. That would explain why he's published so much in his lifetime. He's very dedicated to his craft/art. A short story is more challenging than a novel to make interesting/impactful, due to the format constraints. It's a great training exercise for writers, and I'm always intrigued to read those from authors who publish both.

The first anthology I ever picked up from him was 'half-past midnight'. That collection included 'secret window' which was adapted to film and starred Johnny Depp. Short stories in my opinion make for excellent film adaptations compared to novels. I think novels are better suited for series, due to the ammout of detail.

I've been a fan of his and admire writers for what they bring into our world. ❤️📚

I recently discovered an even shorter format of writing called fast fiction. This was my introduction to flash fiction :

"For sale: baby shoes, never worn"
