I had to do the same thing for the same reason. Grieve and when the time is right a new companion will find its way into your life, you will not forget Eggplant but take your experiences together into a new adventure.

Eggplant 🖤
I said goodbye to my black kitty Eggplant today. He was such a gentle soul and bit of an ass. His last days he was too sick — old age and cancer — and I know I have made the right decision, but I am still sitting here as a slightly tipsy fountain and I intend to grieve for a while.
