THE GOOD NEWS

THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." - Romans 1:16 Are you saved? Are you going to heaven? Would you like to be with God? The Bible tells us all have sinned. We are all sinners and deserve to go to hell. We deserve to be separated from God. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23 What is sin? Sin is doing or thinking ANYTHING that goes against God. Sins are transgressions against God. Those who say they have not sinned are liars and make God to be a liar. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." - John 1:8 However, there is THE GOOD NEWS. That's what the Gospel is, the good news. God loves you and wants you to be with him. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23 The Bible tells us that we can KNOW if we are saved. "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:" - 1 John 5:12-14 We don't deserve it, but by the grace of God we may be saved. FAITH alone in the Lord Jesus Christ alone is the ONLY way. ONLY the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ can wash away sins. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9 Once the Lord has you, he will never let you go and NO ONE can remove you from his hand. "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." - John 6:37 "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." - John 10:28-29 What does it mean to believe on the Lord? It's who he is and what he's done for you. He is the Son of God. He is the living Word of God. God manifested in the flesh. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." - John 1:1-5 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." - John 1:14 What did he do for us? "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 How did he do it? By shedding his precious blood on the cross at Calvary to pay for our sins. Blood is the payment for our sins. "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God." - Romans 3:25 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;" - Ephesians 1:7 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins." - Colossians 1:14 We were once far from God being apart from him, but now made close to God we are joined unto him by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." - Ephesians 2:13 It's all about the Lord Jesus Christ and it always was since the beginning. He paid it all on the cross with his precious blood and his resurrection signals the gift of everlasting life. What you must do is believe he did it for you. Believing is accepting the payment, it's accepting the gift. "And brought them out, and said, sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." - Acts 16:30-31 Place your faith in him today and be sealed with the Holy Spirit. "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory." - Ephesians 1:13-14 Once you do you are set forever and you will now belong to him as a child of God.
