Religion brainwashes people so deeply that they lose their ability to think critically. They become convinced that the peace and joy they feel are real, when in reality it is just their imagination. Christians need to come back down to earth and use common sense again. It’s honestly psychological abuse to tell humans the reason they don’t feel God’s presence is because of their own flaws, doubts, or sins. You guys are delusional. Religion also encourages people to deprive themselves of normal human experiences. When you read the Bible, God often behaves like a domestic abuser: making you believe everything is your fault, promising happiness only if you obey perfectly, then punishing you even when you try. You can never meet all His demands, yet you’re told it’s somehow all for a “happy ending.”

Jesus hated religion and preached against falling into the tradition of man instead He offers a personal relationship, that's spiritual not ritualistic. The Son was sent to redeem man because humans are incapable of following God's law and submitting to His will as history has shown time and time again how bad humanity can get when left unchecked. The state of sin is what separates us from God but through Christ Jesus there is salvation, the Satan will try every trick in the book to convince you it's God's fault. He is a murderer and was so from the beginning. A deceiver. Nobody is capable of obeying God perfectly the only man to do that was Jesus. In the end there is a reward for the righteous who believe but the thing is the righteousness isn't our own its His righteousness through us. Religion often has different facets. We will use christianity as the example as that is the topic of your post. You are correct in regards to religion and the general populace who may not choose to look too deeply into what is in the bible. Biblical scholars have an entirely different view of things suggesting revelations was about the fall of the Roman Empire, hell is actually sheol (Jewish land of the dead where all go), Jesus was not born in winter, the gates of hell was a cave that local pagans believed to be the gates to the underworld and performed sacrifices there, and there were two Jesus's, one who was on a peaceful path and the other being a political revolutionary, as the people chose Jesus Barabbas. There are also christian sects that see the bible as pure allegory and find mystical wisdom throughout the religion. After all, god spoke the universe into existence. We find, by way of the double slit experiment, that matter can be either a particle or a wave, depending on how and where it is observed. What is sound but a wave? I'm not discrediting your stance on the christian religion, or religion in general, as you make some very valid points. I just wanted to show there are other aspects to religion that do deviate from that which plagues the majority.
