This old hermit has a simpler theory: it's about the basics that work, the less is more. When I was a child, I initially formed my vocabulary from children's books, then from comic books. Here I began to be introduced to words I didn't know, and concepts I had no idea what they were about. Here the dictionary and the encyclopedia became the portals to the world of knowledge and words: the first explained the essentials about the word, and some possible synonyms and opposites; the second brought me in rich detail what the concept meant, and made connections with more words I didn't know and more concepts that were new to me. In short, to write well it is necessary to read well. To read well, one must master the writing rules of the language, words, and the concepts they express. Therefore, people who do not like to read, when they need to express themselves in writing, will hardly write appropriately.
