I'm struggling with laughing genuinely and wholeheartedly and have been for a while now, and I don't want to be like this for the rest of my life.. you know what I'm saying? A majority of the time I see something dubbed as comedy, for me, it will come across as boring or like, I'll understand why it's considered funny but just don't laugh. I don't want to ever be mistaken for a Debbie Downer, Negative Nancy or an overall party pooper for something that's subjective. Don't sweat it too much - unless you used to laugh at the smallest, dumbest things, and now suddenly can't find the humor in it. If that is what has happened, I'd honestly go to a doctor. Ask for a screening, let them know there have been changes in you and you want to ensure there's not something that has caused that change - other than growing up and maturing. All of that said: everyone has their own sense of humor. What's hilarious to one will be offensive to another. Then there are the "same old, same old" comedy skits. The ones that some people never get tired of and is almost always a good chuckle to one that hasn't seen/heard it before, but is SUPER old and not even worth a smile after 2 or 3 exposures. I am an "everything that was meant to be funny, is" type of person. Obviously jokes can get old, material isn't funny the 4th time in a row, etc. but I am an easy laugher. You were trying to make a joke? I understood the joke? I laugh. I may tell you immediately that it's a bad joke, but I still tend to laugh 😃 People only ever name call / mistake you for those names when they have fragile egos and are unable to accept people different than themselves. So NEVER care if someone calls you those things. Thank them for exposing themselves and remove them from your life.
