Honestly I don't understand it. How can there be such a lack of compassion in the world. Maybe it's because of how I was raised, but I don't understand why there is so much hate, division, and animosity towards each other. We are all human beings. We are all worth the same amount of materials give or take a few cents. No one is more or less important than the other. It doesn't matter what their ethnicity is. It doesn't matter what their biological sex or gender identity is. It doesn't matter What their sexual preference is. It doesn't matter what religion they chose or chose not to believe in. We are all human. We all should be compassionate towards each other and strive to help our fellow humans succeed in life. As long as they aren't hurting others, why should you or anyone else care what they do? The fact is, it shouldn't. The folly of humanity is pride. Others try to enstill their ways and beliefs on others because of pride. They think they are more important than the person they are trying to control. They think they are more important. They think they know better than the professionals in a specific field. Pride is the downfall of society. We are all the same. One race. The human race. We all want to survive our stint on this rapidly spinning planet. We all want happiness. It is ours to make. It is not yours to take. Show some compassion and help your fellow human find happiness. Not the happiness you want for them, the happiness they want for themselves.

Compassion is still thriving. We just live in an age where we see each other through man mad technology. Technology that rewards bringing out negative emotions more than any other. History has shown us that when you get the type of division we see today, is when a minority is dividing a majority to conquer them. It's an illusion. Main danger is what happens when people believe it. But our hearts are just as human as any other time in human history.

You had me until you said we were all the same. I don’t think we should need to erase our gender, race, or culture to deserve the same compassion or respect from each other. Different does not equal unequal. It doesn’t matter if I am different from you. I deserve the same compassion and love as you even with my differences. I shouldn’t need to erase my history and lineage to whatever “default culture” is acceptable to make anyone feel comfortable enough to see me as a human being.

Well said. compassion is out there, it's just not as common as it used to be. Neighbors are strangers, families don't speak over differing political views, and children are being raised by screens because parents need to work to support a home. Break the cycle where you can and hopefully it gets paid forward.

Compassion comes from looking at another perspective. In our daily lives it’s hard to think of others as having another life that is beyond oursleves. I do want to argue nature vs nurture which is something that I think your going into. That being said I may even be over reading what you said.
