11moConventional vs. alternative medicine
Here is a little rant, triggered by a video posted here earlier (I have foolishly blocked the lovely person who posted it, and cannot unblock). I happen to know a bit about medicine, and worked with several doctors, and have read a lot of their forums. First, unlike the video claimed, all doctors recommend healthy foods as a way to prevent, manage and sometimes even reverse most serious chronic conditions. Yes, even diabetes and heart disease can revert to moderate and stable stage, so you would consider them cured. But no superfood will help you if you have a broken bone poking through the skin. You will need that set and stitched up. Once this is done, healthy foods can definitely help you heal faster, and any MD will be happy to recommend them to you. Likewise, cancer is not going to go away on its own. The cap was popped, some of your own cells do not care about your survival or well-being, and they will not go quietly into the night. Healthy foods can lessen the symptoms, or help recovery after treatments, but they do not replace treatments. Just ask Steve Jobs, he was a smart guy with access to every cure in the world. Everybody knows that treatment for cancer is dangerous (can't tell bad cells from good ones). Which is why we do biopsy, a 100% accurate test of whether cancer is there or not. If you do not believe that doctors act in best interest of the patient, do believe me that they are very afraid of malpractice lawsuits, and insurance companies are very strict in authorizing risky treatments (because they pay for the consequences). So please do get your cancer screenings, especially if you like to drink/smoke/vape/inject. PS Patient-facing doctors (and pharmacists) hate corporate interests in healthcare even more than you do. Pharmaceutical companies and their PBM "wholesalers" are on top of the hate list. But they still use their drugs because they know what happens if they don't. PPS I know elephants fight cancer naturally, as their immune system can recognize cancer cells and kill them. But we are not elephants, and are nowhere near finding the relevant bit of elephant DNA or getting it to work in humans.

Holistic practitioner (unbiased) and biohacker here… really does my head in when I come across people in my field who make claims about cure I find it so irresponsible how many especially in the holistic wellness industry rhrow the word cure around and it really makes me 🤦🏼♀️ There’s a difference between treatment and cure. Not even companies who create gene therapy ( which is one of the “holy” trinity therapies pharma is heading towards) which is pretty much the most extreme to treat illness even claim that it’s a cure but words like slowing down, stabilize and treatment are used. Some genes can be hacked sure with specific compounds A healthy lifestyle may prevent illness but one has zero guarantees that cancer or any illness will not hijack your body no matter how clean their lifestyle is. If one has have a genetic condition especially orphan diseases no superfood which get’s promoted as some miracle 🙄 is going to cure. At max allievate to some extent. Remission of a disease is not cure. Cure means NEVER getting a relapse. Not knocking on your door 10 years later after one claimed or thought they were cured. 🤦🏼♀️ I recently came across a clip about grounding and the person promoting it was claiming it will cure cancer and more. That is utterly ridiculous! Grounding has many benefits sure but let’s be realistic and not believe in fairy tales when it comes to health which is something very serious. With regards to cancer treatments? I know legit cases of people who were csncer free after doing a pharma based parasite drug treatment (8 months). It’s a specific protocol but did they get cured? Like I said, being cancer free doesn’t mean cured. Ultimately, one should decide what treatment is most viable for them based on many crucial factors. (edited)
I am fairly certain that a fair amount of the modern rise of anti-intellectualism and anti-science is based in the reality that many times the only an answer that actual experts can honestly provide is, "The data we have indicates 'x' ", and it is not uncommon for early results to fail over time or at scale. "Why did this happen to me?" has been a common refrain since before the book of Job was written, and people selling a confident answer on why and how to prevent bad things is not new. A lot of the resulting "magical" thinking helps people feel like they have control over their lives in ways that they really don't.
