I think small talk is what helps lead to the bigger conversations.
Notsayingthat small talk has to go on for the first 24 hours, But "hey how you doing What is it that you like", let's the otherpersonknow what you're working with and what they're working with as well.
I get that when you receive that same message for probably the hundredth time it might get annoying and lead you to feellike I don't want to deal with that anymore let's just jumpstraight into "big talk" But I don't think that should be takenout on the person trying to initiate the conversation.

I neverstart a conversation with small talk. Ever. Its a great way to be ignored entirely and it's not engaging. I don't even do it at the grocerystore. No small talk ever! Woo!

I got the ADHD, that being said I can hold a conversation on just about anything, and it usually devolves in to me turn said subject to an impromptu stand upskit. I will forget what I said.

Easy ones… which does not requires any atp to be burned on brain cells
I like that list but find it's hard to get people to really engage on this thing. Most people just leave you having a one sided conversation. But if you manage to get someone to actually invest and share their passions and interests then it instantly becomes a great discussion.
Now the key to finding people willing to do that is a tough find. The shared interests are a bit of helpthough.
