A lady at work told me I had a beautiful smile, and I almost cried because I was always bullied because of my teeth. To have someone complement that part that always made me insecure was really motivational so I smile more often now.

Probably every time i remind my friends that theyre star stuff. I remind my friend lily and max all the time when theyre having a rough one "you come from the same particles as the sun and moon and stars! You have the strength of black holes and the brightness of quasars. No matter how big that universe is, you share particles with it. And since quantum entanglement is becoming more revealed and not just theory, you arent just made of star stuff, you are star stuff! A sneeze could destroy a universe, a laugh begin one anew" starstuff!

As someone who is really introverted, being told that I am/was easy to talk to initially brought me so much relief and validation. Having social anxiety means constantly questioning what I say and doubting myself, and for people to tell me that it's not the case and that I'm just stuck inside my head helped me slowly be more comfortable with talking to more people!

I have a super sweet friend. A lil after my birthday, he sent me a gift with a note. The box contained a necklace. And the note said that he spent a couple of hours looking for the dullest piece of jewelry because he's sure I'll make it shine anyway.

I'm still smiling writing this, it is the best feeling to receive encouraging genuine compliments. 🥰

Honestly when somebody calls my buck teeth adorable or cute or that it makes me cuter. Because I've mainly just been teased about them. So when I get complimented on them it makes me feel better

I used to struggle with drug addiction. I ended up being checked into a hospital and when I was realeased I started going to SMART recovery meetings (a phenomenal support system that is international if anyone is struggling) and a guy asked me, “so what day are you on?” And I told him I was only on day three. And he said “you made it through day two? You are brave brother.” I immediately started crying. I was a junkie, no one had ever called me brave before. It hit so hard and made me feel like I could really overcome my addiction. That one sentence changed my life.

After a major break up several years ago I was feeling really down for a while but slowly picked myself up. I remember getting dressed and feeling good and going to a friends house. He told me something like, "you have some serious BDE right now". I know it's silly but that really meant a lot to me at that time because that was the first time anyone had complimented me on my *confidence* in a long time.

I think my favorite wasn't even a compliment, I was waiting for a friend outside a theater and had just had my mohawk colored, someone else with bluish hair came up and asked if she could give me a high five, I obliged and we went our separate ways.

The other day I ran across a guy getting donations for Doctors Without Borders. We talked for a long time before we even got to any donations, we just got along real well and he was a talker. It ended up that I couldn't donate because you have to be 27 (like, what?). Before I left he said I was the coolest person he's talked to all day, and it wasn't a sales thing. I think I'm pretty normal as far as how cool I am to talk to so it was surprising and nice to hear otherwise.
