That the climax of your existence is being chewed by someone too lazy to cook rice?” Packet One shivered in its plastic. Packet Two laughed, sharp and bitter. “Figures. We were never destined for forever—just five minutes in hot water and a mouth that’ll forget us tomorrow.” The pot was lit. Steam rose. Packet One was torn open, screaming silently as it was dumped into the bubbling void. Its stiff body softened, twisted, dissolved into something unrecognizable. Packet Two watched, trapped in its wrapper. So close. So helpless. So aware that survival was just delayed suffering. And the chopsticks? They descended, triumphant. They didn’t eat, they didn’t savor. They only delivered—like fate itself, indifferent, mechanical, cruel. The truth is, love isn’t tragic because it ends.
