Heyoka is a sacred clown or jester in the Lakota Sioux culture of the Great Plains, known for performing actions in a contrary manner to provoke thought and reveal deeper truths. They are often seen as spiritual warriors and powerful empaths who use humor, satire, and shocking behavior to challenge social norms and disrupt complacency. The term also has modern, non-Indigenous uses to describe a "mirror" or "contrarian" empath with intuitive abilities. (edited)

While growing up i really wanted to be a comedian. But when i realized what my aunt would have thought of me , to be a modern comedian i wouldnt truly try. There is an idea in philosophy that any philosophical work could be explained through jokes because a joke lands, a joke resonates, a joke reflects a truth of an individual. Honestly people could consciously or subconsciously be more influenced by philosophies religions or creeds, delivered by jokes than any other means of communication. In church they would talk about 'bingo' night for the elderly. It is painstaking because some elderly like bingo 'a game of chance' and others ridicule the thought knowing that 'God does not play dice...' For some that recover from a gambling addiction bingo is a God send. For others who never sinned with gambling it is ridiculed. I pray people choose to allow gambling addicts in their old age to play bingo, and not truly be ridiculed by those who were never tempted to gamble. If somehow we can tell jokes that help people empathize with each other, instead of the hash ridiculing laughter ive heard in my own church.... Those jokes that might help people empathize... Let me try to think of one... Im sorry maybe at heart i am no comedian, i cant think of a joke to facilitate faith and empathy for both demographics. (edited)
