Are teenagers closer to kids or adults?

I still felt like a kid when I turned 18. I finally felt like an adult in my 30s but now teenagers seem like kids even more.

That depends. Any individual is different. There are a lot of teens that are more mature in some ways than many adults. Some people age backwards and are mature as kids and then become silly, immature, reckless adults.

Personally speaking, people were treating me like an adult since I was 15 (besides my controlling parents ofc), I've always felt a bit out of place when hanging out with people my age; Even still, I tend to get along with full-grown adults than 17-19 year olds. Anyway, in my opinion it depends on the maturity of the individual at hand.

It's a continuum, and some adults never really make it all the way to maturity. And besides, there are lots of aspects to maturity that don't always come all at once. I felt like a kid until I got my first job, which wasn't until I was 23 (thanks recession), but even kids who grow up fast in terms of life skills and personality may be immature in the area of impulse control, or vice versa.

I would say depends on the upbringing. Teens from poorer families who had to face a degree of hardship from early on are generally closer to adults. Teens from well-off families that grow up sheltered and cared for at every turn are basically still kids. Growing up begins when the individual has to start taking on responsibility for their own well-being and their family's well-being eventually.

I'd say we only really get our adult bodies truly around 25. I have 3 teens and although they can reason well they are deffinantly still kids. Early 20s can still be very juvenile. Takes awhile for many to mature if they do and this current generation in the 7 to 12 range is really really almost infantile. They can't problem solve and many have emotions like a 5 year old. Not all of them of course but it's very concerning. The new study from Nero science has found the screen times the have received on top of things being available has caused the portions of the brain in the preteen population and below to shrink in the areas of empathy, problem solving, and creativity. They can self entertain. It's very scary.

Depends on the person. Some adults feel like kids... As a teenager I felt like an adult, but I also grew up as one of those kids who was never truly allowed to be a kid. Adults responsibilities like food and clothing had to be taken care of because of abusive/neglectful parents, so I think the true response to this 100% depends on personal experience. In other words, if the teen hasn't had much experience, they're closer to a child. If they've had quite a bit of experience, they're closer to adults.
