I was dating a few people and there was someone who brought up an idea. On the first date, it frowned upon to ask about the job, career, and money on the first date. Someone pitch the idea that, instead of talking about those topics on the first date, you talk about hobbies, personality, interests. Then talk about jobs and career on the second date. Do you agree? Has this method gotten you more success?

4"Frowned upon" is a pretty strong sentiment. I'm not well-versed in the etiquette of dating (is there something like that?), but I know the purpose of these dates is to get to the know the person well, and first dates are usually when you try to gauge if you're interested in getting to know someone more. Topics like career/job/money might not give you the insight about whom you're dealing with (unless they're already working in the field they're passionate about) so I can see how it can be a turn-off if you're into getting to know personality. If not, and you're more logistically driven with screening, discussing them on the first date may not be that taboo. So my guess is know your audience and whom you'd rather be dating? lol
