1moA guy wrote in his dating bio that he’s looking for someone with a “great sense of humor.”
But what exactly does that mean? Everyone has a sense of humor, but humor is so subjective. One person’s hilarious is another person’s annoying. And is having a great sense of humor about being funny yourself, understanding someone else’s jokes, enjoying teasing and banter, or simply being able to laugh and have fun together? I’m genuinely curious what do you consider a great sense of humor, especially in a relationship?

I mainly think he didn't know what to put in his bio. A sense of humor is the generic thing that everyone puts.

You bring up such a great point. For me, having a great sense of humor in a relationship isn't about being a comedian. It’s really just about being on the same wavelength. It’s finding someone who gets your random observations, shares those little inside jokes no one else understands, and doesn't take themselves too seriously. At the end of the day, it's less about who's funny and more about whether you can genuinely laugh together. (edited)

All valid questions! I would guess it's your last point about laughing together but it is a throw-away line as healthy relationships tend to generate fun, laughter and happiness anyway! The female equivalent phrase is looking for someone "to make me laugh". 😅 Though writing bios aren't always an easy thing... maybe there are other parts on their bio that are more ... specific?
