2yAre long distance partners worth it?
Long-distance relationships are just a glorified pen pal situation. Sure, you might talk every day, but it's not the same as being physically present in each other's lives. How can you truly build a future together when you're hundreds or thousands of miles apart? It seems like a recipe for disaster. Have you ever been in a long-distance relationship? Do you think it's possible to build a lasting relationship from afar, or is it doomed to fail? Let's talk about it!

It depends. Having been in one for a number of years when I was younger you need an end date, or a plan. I wouldn't be going into one if you're casually dating, it's really for a couple who are life partners and the distance is going to benefit you through education or work. But there needs to be that exit plan to end the distance, and time spent to visit each other and not neglect each other. It's hard, I would suggest to most people it's not worth it.

Any relationship can fail regardless of distance because it's a people issue more often than not. If you or the other person don't want to put in the effort then it will fail whether you're two miles away or 2,000 miles away. I also have a few friends who started off long distance with their partner and now they live together. So it can work, if you really want it to, imo.
