5Hi Dragoslav 1) I would guess from reading 1000+ profiles here (and 50k+ on okcupid over the last 10 years) that probably 1/3 of people are lying about their age. 2) Either lying directly with the age setting, or lying indirectly by deliberately using out of date photos. Many people age 5-10 extra years between their first and last profile photos. Yikes. 😯 3) On okcupid, I noticed people would sit on the site for years, are active, change the text etc but never ever update their photos. 🕰️ 4) I've heard that men do it too, don't know how much. 5) Best not to approach/date people that do it IMHO, liars are awful, and they always start with small lies in the beginning and build up from there. 6) And once someone has normalised lying *all the time* to *everyone they meet* over long periods of time, they're basically irredeemable. 7) They're sometimes mad too. I have a feeling that people lying about their age probably have some other issues going on relating to poor self image/self hate, shame, narcissism, denial, delusion etc... the lying about who they are is the surface level symptoms of it. 8) The funniest one I saw lately wrote to me to say "I'm 46 but I froze my eggs at 35 that's why I put 35 on my profile". 🤔

4Because they get passed up for the younger girls, so in order to stay relevant, gotta lie and put lower to hopefully get the attention.

7Yeah, I'm 52 and Ultra OK with that. No risk of getting knocked up, never had kids so few parasites, ehhem, I seem to be matched with them though. Younger guys And older guys who can't get it together. It is all a big yawn anyway, is Tinder still a thing b/c I don't know why I spent $$$ on this.

7Not all lie about their age. I have no fear saying my real age, 48. I don't need to stay relevant, I never was when I was younger 😂 I just don't see the benefit I'd get by lowering my age. Seems more of a consequence if I ever do.

Plus how are you supposed to even establish trust which is necessary for a relationship 😅. Just be honest and people don't like it then they ain't for you.
