I saw a post today about someone who looked depressed and ready to quit because she wasn't getting any matches. I tried to help her (foolish me) and explain a bit about how a man's mind works when we look at photos and read profiles. I suggested some gentle improvements to her bio, such as writing it in a more positive way and adding some photos where she smiles. I didn't tell her to hide what she had written, but to shift towards a more positive tone. Of course, everything went awry, and she ended up calling me superficial. She created a second post regarding this and she end up being "understood" and she was happy with the approvals. Nobody will evolve as a person or career or personal life if we are blind to other people honest feedback. We are biased by nature, so we have to rely on people who wants us to succeed for their adviae. I was only trying to help, from an outside perspective and from the point of view of an average man. I didn't have any hidden agenda (she was thousands of miles away from me). I was simply responding to her request for help, as she had said that nobody liked her profile. I'm not a hot guy or a very attractive person. I'm over 40 and have slim chances of finding a real connection (I'm not trying to use reverse psychology here). I accept that, but I still try my best, and when I can, I offer my help to others. Now, that everyone fall asleep while reading, I am turning off the light and go to sleep probably😁😁 (edited)

May I offer some "insight"? She probably wasn't in a good mood to receive comments what would require depressed people to "try to act". It's just tiresome to do all the time. It dosent means that she don't want to improve. But maybe not right now. Its normal and there is nothing wrong with it. Sometimes we just really need people around us who accepts us at our worst, without have to be like everyone else. Because that's how it feels like for someone deeply depressed, everyone want to "change" us. Not even exactly with helping, but asking us to act like we are already been helped. Depression needs a lot if healing and it's not a quick process. Especially if there is more underlying issues, or personality/stress/mood disorders is in the package also. I don't think she done anything wrong, and would be amazing if u wouldn't speak about her behind her back. Just to get a few positive comment how amazing u were to try to "help". By telling her to try to look like as a different person than she is at the moment.... U literally complaining about a mentally wounded person's opinion and response. (edited)
