I've matched (long term) twice in boo in the past 3 years and had a handful of conversations spark and fizzle out. But basically if you're intentional in your search for a match, you should be messaging your potential matches, EVERY swipe right should be followed by a message, not just "hey" but something relevant to their profile (think call to action). Set your filters accordingly and if distance isn't a problem, set your distance limits to global but have the intentions to travel within 1yr of your first video chat. Set your filters accordingly. DO NOT match outside your filters. Lowering your standards because your not getting matches is capitulating, DONT. For every 100 dms you send out you should be getting around 2-3 responses and of those you have a decent chance to land your first date/video chat. If you're not getting those numbers you need to tweak your profile; detailed bio, better pics, more tags, etc. Stay active in the feed. Activity in the feed and building a rep sends a positive message to the people you're trying to match with. It shows you are putting yourself out there and trying to socially engage, and that tells a potential match that you actually bring value to the people around you, even if it's just sharing memes.
