What is the craziest dating experience you’ve ever had? I recently spoke to someone online who claims our “relationship” (talking online, and a few dinners) was a simulation, because he wanted the experience of falling in love. As a signing off video, he explained that we will never be equal, because he’s older, smarter, and a man. 😬 And even though he thinks I’m beneath him, he’s willing to take me to Las Vegas or Disney World in December as activity partners. This is in response to me telling him that even though I find him attractive and I think we could be good friends, our values don’t align (even though he’d never been so blunt, he would talk about how the highest value is beauty, specifically blonde white female beauty). I haven't been on a lot of dates, but I did have a "date" at a local bar. I was enjoying a Friday at the bar after a rough workweek, and this group of college girls next to me. I was still shell shocked from the breakup of a long term relationship and frankly I found them a tad annoying, so I didn't bother. After almost two hours of enjoying my beers the group left and one of them stood up and told me that I was "boring" and that I "never had a shot with her" I can't recall how I reacted to it besides giving a confused look. The older gent I was chatting with told me that she wasn't worth a 2nd thought. I just remember enjoying my Black and Tan afterwards.

I think the weirdest part of your story is that he thought being older made him somehow better. 😂 I guess my crazy dating experience was falling in love with a woman who's mom did not like me at all at first. As an older man who has gone through a lot in life I would say the following: knowledge is the accumulation of facts and wisdom is a proper application of those facts. Just because an individual is older does not mean they've gained wisdom. This individual obviously put himself and his needs / wants at the center of the relationship. I have always found that the best relationships, the ones that last, are when each partner puts the other as more important than themselves as long as the respect, and value towards one another remain uncompromised, and boundaries are kept. In this way it balances out because you don't want to take advantage of your partner you want to support, share, and meet the needs of your partner. If it's not a two-way street or if it's based on appearances, or materialism and not commitment it will not last. Let's face it we all grow older and what looks fresh and young and desirable today may fade away if the character and the commitment are not developed along the way. The best relationships are ones where you know you can share anything and it will not diminish you in the eyes of your partner rather they will listen and empathize where possible but will not try to fix you, but support you, accept you, love you, and encourage you, not use you.
