7This happens all the time cause surface-level dating, but usually conflicting ideas in philosophy or politics burn it down to the toilet once the relationship hits the midpoint. Some can negotiate themselves out of that kind of hell and save the relationship. The problem is that conflicting political ideas can get extremely heated here in the states cause opposing sides are not able to come to a nice agreement on the state of politics. (edited)

Religion, culture, and politics are each huge and nebulous. The Bible, Quran, and Torah have been interpreted to support nearly any imaginable belief and action. I expect the holy texts of other religions are large and complex enough to do the same. Similarly, two people from the same culture or belonging to the same political party can disagree vehemetly on both goals and methods. I think it boils down to shared values, insight, and empathy. Two people can be from different religions, cultures, and political affiliations, but if they share the same values, each have self-awareness (insight), and are capable of empathy--then there is a chance of success. However, if they share religion, culture, and political affiliations but don't share the same values and lack insight and empathy--there is zero chance of success.
