Thank you for posting this. I have lost track of how many times I have been approached as being a third in someone's relationship, especially on dating apps. Even if I put "no poly or monogamy only" in my bio, I will still get messaged by poly couples. I am also surprised to see how many husbands are looking for a new "play thing". I find it wastes a lot of my time filtering through it :(

Most people simply aren't wired to be in a poly or non-monogamous relationship. That being said, there is a minority who seek out those type of relationships, but I feel like they need their own dating apps specifically for that purpose. Allowing these apps to become a "free for all" to cater to absolutely everyone does a disservice because it wastes time for both groups by forcing them to constantly filter out people with incompatible relationship goals. To add to the problem, those filters don't even seem to work half the time, as I still get presented with options I specifically didn't ask for. It's just more "needle in a haystack" work, rather than connecting with like-minded individuals from the start. (edited)

So many things happen behind closed doors and out of the sight of society that normally criticizes but does the same. My point of view is that there are people for all kinds of tastes and pleasures, and everyone just needs to follow the rule that everyone should be respected within their preferences. And each one lives their life happily :)

I do find that creepy, is there actually that many on dating apps? I've seen a few women posting as well, but I just assumed it was relatively uncommon. Not interested in the statistic, but it's like the old jokes you used to see in shows about polygamists trying legalize. Has poly become normalized? (edited)

What kind of relationships can even exist in a threesome? It's all nonsense. True love, relationships, family, call it what you want, it's always two people, two partners. Three partners is anything but a relationship or a family.
