Before I get crucified by people for my comment…I know men can be problematic also…and don’t lecture people before you’ve walked a mile in their shoes. Here’s my advice: Hopefully, he has a good lawyer. Next, if the relationship is even slightly serious, therapy for you and your partner. You might need to process and debrief the things that happen together with help. Consume rsources by qualified professionals on blended relationships/families, high-conflict divorce, and maybe even things like personality disorders. Might seem like a lot; but if the ex is problematic, I’d say you’re just seeing the surface of what they’re capable of. Biggest this is to not react to provocations. Or just don’t invest in guys like this. You don’t want to break their hearts even more on top of the drama they’ve already faced; if you realize that it’s too much for you.

One thing is that sometimes when a problem-ex realizes their ex-partner has a new love; they come back around or turn up the chaos.

If the relationship isn’t serious; I’d say just be there to have fun with the guy and let him and the ex sort it out. Encourage him to find professional resources like books on the subject. I mean books from psychologists; not YouTube videos by angry men

@Mr. I appreciate your thoughts on this. I have never had super bad issues in this situation cause I wont stand for it. Honestly I prefer dating guys with no kids just to avoid the headache lol

@Erin I don’t blame you! 👍🏽But for anyone reading this, some of these guys good dudes and have learned resilience if they’ve done work on themselves and healed from the past relationship.

Men shouldn't be involing their dates or new girlfriends with their kids. It should be kept separate for all involved. Mostly for the kids though as it's not fair on kids who already are dealing with a broken home.
