Is it always good to be special?

My partner always calls me special. Whenever I share what I'm thinking, or the reasons behind why I did something, he calls me special. Like how it's special that even if I hate someone, if a person who doesn't know them or who wasn't hurt by them talks badly about them, I tell them to stop. How it's special that I don't know when I'm flirting with someone, that it's special that I can't see the most obvious flirts and instead see their behavior as platonic. How it's special that I don't think like others do. But it doesn't always feel good to be special. It doesn't feel good to be different. Because then what I say, how I act, how I treat my friends, it can hurt them, and it's hurt him. It makes me cry because no matter how hard I try I can't understand what they mean, I don't understand why they're like that, I don't see what is "obvious", yet after the yelling and crying they smile and say I'm special. I don't want to be special anymore. I want to be normal. Because at least if I'm normal, I'll understand. I'll see before I act. I'll get it before they have to explain. And they'll only be hurt when I'm purposefully not listening. Not on accident anymore. Would you still give everything to be special?

I think that you are who you are and so having your own way to think, your own way to do things etc. ok it’s sad that it’s no common standard to go the own way, think for yourself but that’s no reason to call it special. You are simple individual and nothing is more important than to be individual in this age of grey masses unity… all are the same is not ever the best, especially if it’s lead to creating a society where everyone is a copy of another one. Being the color within this grey masses is better than you may thought.
