What do our dreams say about us?

Did you know, your brain is incapable of "imagining" a face? Any person you see in a dream is someone you've seen in real life.. so they say. It's a fact that everybody dreams. Its a fact that everyone is different. I know some people don't ever remember their dreams, some only ever have nightmares, and me.. well it depends what I drank before bed. Some peple think they're random, others believe it's a manifestation of our hopes or possibly a recollection of what we did that day. Personally, I think it's a little bit of everything. What do you think?

idk but in my dreams I can fly and emit energy like Goku and halve telekinesis and can pass through solid objects. I talk to other people and interrogate them to try to determine if they're other beings or manifestations of my own mind. Also technology never works right in my dreams, my phone is the biggest frustrating pos in dream world. (edited)

Dreams are the brains way of keeping us sane while the body sleeps.. your most likely to dream when you are uncomfortable in whatever form that may take, or when you are not actually tired but end up taking a nap anyway. This results in the conscious side of our brain not falling asleep, however the rest of the body does... If you were to stay awake during this period(a condition referred to as sleep paralysis) you would experience a feeling of numbness and inability to move, due to this you are most likely to start freeking out and wake the body back up. So to prevent your conscious mind from flipping out you are fed random feelings and emotions that your brain then reinterprits as a dream. (edited)

I remember when I was a kid (like 8) my crush was moving away and I started having this dream where she and I would end up in the same dream world. I remember the night after her last day at school I had this dream where the dream world was starting to crash and break apart and I was desperately doing everything I could to hold it together but she put her hand on my shoulder and told me to stop focusing on saving it and focus on just being with her for our last moments. (I know it sounds made up af but it really was a dream my 8 year old brain came up with). Anyway, I actually did reconnect with her as an adult and while she remembered our mutual friend ... she didn't even remember me at all. I didn't bring up the dreams of course. ... Anyway, I think at the end of the day dreams are just dreams. They may be a window into what we are feeling (a huge percieved loss or feelings of the world crashing down around us) but nothing more metaphysical than our brain having vivid thoughts and running wild with our senses.
