Waking up in some form of prison has started to become a standard for me…

More fun and more practical is telling the party to already know each other and having a party member go around to “get the boys back together” for some mission. Build in the party knows each other so they are less likely to start killing each other.

Or hell, theyre all in prison. Or theyre at a bounty board.

Everyone was going to meet as a prestigious wizard's party. They each had to come up with why they had an invitation. Were they invited? If so why? Was someone else invited, and their invitation was swiped? How'd they do it?
