Remembrance : Where were you when the News broke
On September 8 2022, the world paused. The News of Queen Elizabeth II's passing spread quickly, marking the end of an era and a moment many of us will always remember. In between games, i was scrolling through youtube and found an interesting documentary on that very sad day. I'm curious to hear your story. Where were you when you first heard the news ? What were you doing during the day and then at that exact moment ? How did it make you feel ? Feel free to share your memories below

Here is my story : At the time, i was an higher education belgian student, studying in belgium. I am very passionnate about United Kingdom's culture. That day, I woke up as always at 7am, cups of coffee and all prepared for a 9am online exam on the subject of financial analysis. After that 3h exam, i began preparing myself some green pesto pasta. While eating, i loved and still do love looking at the bbc news. That's when i saw the news that the Queen was unwell. I was stunned at the moment, couldn't eat. I forced myself to eat and at the same time searching for more info. After that, as i had prepared my day, i began studying for the next exam but i felt the looming of the bad news so i kept the bbc news on my tv with low volume. I remember when i heard the news, i was in my sofa, study notes on my lap, my mother that arrived earlier from her work was snacking her yoghurt in her armchair. Both we stopped what we were doing, just listening what was said. I remember crying and being shocked. I couldn't concentrate the rest of my evening. The next day, at school, everyone was talking about it and by a collective decision, teachers, admnistrators and students reunited all in the hall of our establishment. We rang the bell, did a minute of silent and then the director asked us to stay silent while God save the Queen played which we did. Ad Memoriam Aeternitatis
