Societies expectation of women

Is it misogynistic of society to expect a woman to shave her body hair so that she can adhere and appeal to societies sexualised image of what a woman should look like?

Yes. Since the hair grows there naturally on a woman. We don't require men shave their face to look like a man. If a person wants to shave, they can shave. Demanding it, to look the part, was all marketing to sell more razors. (edited)

Expecting a woman to shave is bad, yes. Having a preference for your partner to shave is fine. Trying to pressure your partner into shaving is not okay. Shaming someone for not fitting your idea of what is beautiful is also not okay.

That's a weird way to put that, women can do what they want so stop blaming society, always with the convenient shifting of blame , each person is responsible for their own actions no one is holding these women down and shaving them.

Not only is that standard of beauty misogynistic but it's also racist. In the early 1900s, hair removal for women became widespread, driven by Eurocentric beauty ideals that linked hairlessness to femininity, modernity, and social status. These standards carried racist undertones, as body hair was stigmatized as "uncivilized," particularly in women of color, who were often depicted as primitive or less feminine due to ethnic differences in hair. The growing beauty industry reinforced this by promoting white, hairless bodies as the ideal, marginalizing women of color and pressuring them to conform. This intersection of racism and misogyny reduced women’s bodies to sites of control, linking beauty to both racial superiority and the suppression of natural femininity. That said I shave basically everywhere and I think it is attractive. And when I am attracted to a woman or not I accept that hairiness is something that can move the needle, not much but it does a bit and like a woman with a full stach she curls is going to need a lot of other superlative qualities for me to find her attractive. Perhaps that's because I live in a society. It's okay to have personal feelings about what you find attractive. It's misogyny to expect women to conform to those standards.

Women can do what they want. But I personally don't like it. Shave them legs and pits for the love of God.

Is it misogynistic if they don't? Why is everything misogynistic? Why can't it be women doing it doing it to themselves because of societal norms? If they want to changes norms that's cool but I'm always going to appreciate my ideal of an attractive woman and that's not going to change any more than my love of a beautiful Gurney!

Women deserve so much better.

Sometimes I just wish there was someone who could help carry me through my own battles instead of fighting my own tears to keep on going I want to experience allowing myself to be a sensitive woman who embraces her feminine side without being called weak

Women deserve so much better.

Misogynistic men prefer the company of non-feminist women who do not speak up about their misogyny. … They label feminists as man-haters to avoid having to examine their own attitudes and behaviors toward women.

Women 👩👩‍🦰👩‍🦱🧑‍🦰🧑‍🦱👱‍♀️👩🏾‍🦳🧑‍🦳👵

You see, women are like fires, like flames. Some women are like candles, bright and friendly. Some are like single sparks, or embers, like fireflies for chasing on summer nights. Some are like campfires, all light and heat for a night and willing to be left after. Some women are like hearthfires,... read more

Being a feminist

Do you think that to be a feminist it is enough to believe that men and women are equal, or do you need to actively support women's rights?
