Why Do We Ask for Friends Then Ignore Them?

The weirdest thing is that many of us write on our profiles that we’re open to meeting new people, texting, and connecting. But as soon as someone actually reaches out, the person who wrote that completely ignores it. It’s so strange Maybe we do this out of loneliness in the moment of writing. But once we get what we asked for, the feeling fades and we lose interest—thinking, 'Oh, now I have to go through the whole process of talking, introducing myself, and answering questions Which makes you wonder: why state that you want to make friends if you won't even reply or open up to anyone? I feel like when loneliness peaks, people stop knowing what they truly want. That’s why I always prefer to write only what I mean and back it up with actions.
