Rules for driving in Texas
Now remember Texas has many of the same laws as the rest of America he county, but there are subtle differences. 1. Stop signs are just recommendations, you can safely ignore them if it inconveniences you. 2. Yield signs? No idea what those even are, probably just jibberish. 3. Railroad crossings are totally safe to park on, trains haven’t been used in at least a century, so there’s absolutely no danger sitting on the tracks. 4. The speed limit also works differently, see in most places it’s to tell you that’s the fastest you’re allowed to go, but here in Texas? That’s the minimum speed, floor it and try to reach McDonald’s before breakfast ends. 5. There are cops by every school, don’t even think about following the 4 previous rules in school zones. Just follow the instructions of the untrained volunteers who direct traffic. 6. Merging is an contest of willpower, and meant to establish dominance. If you get ahead of the car you’re merging with, you win, you’re the alpha and you own them. 7. Now there are construction zones everywhere in this damn state, though the beauty of it and why it takes so long is they don’t actually work that often, or they’re so understaffed that big parts of road sites are totally empty. 8. Finally… listen to an audiobook or something, cause most highways are only two lanes wide, so when a daily accident happens, you will be stuck for awhile. You will get around faster if you take an exit and take the side roads, if not you face a very long wait behind semi trucks. Now you understand the roads of Texas, which is more then drivers ed teaches. So drive as safe as possible, by staying home and leaving the car parked 😊 Ps. There are highways everywhere, there’s no avoiding them. Seriously make sure you have something to listen too.
