Catharsis. I love games that make me feel things; games with powerful stories or beautiful scenery that fill my heart with beauty and sadness

2y

I enjoy gaming because it is brain food. It improves my cognitive abilities like having to use reasoning skills, improves hand-eye coordination, problem solving skills, enchances my strategic abilities, and overall, it is fantastic entertainment. :]

2y

The story goes that I've been gaming since before I could speak ~ it was initially something I enjoyed with my father years ago ~ so, in a sense, I began to game because he would game ~ and in the years since, I never ceased enjoying it ~ whether it was to escape to some far away world, or to compete against other players, and to compete against myself. It brings me satisfaction.

2y

Nothing that deep for me lol. I game because its fun. Its also just something I have done my whole life.

2y

To relax when the weather keeps me inside.

2y

I game because it's fun. And it helps escape reality

2y

I game because it makes me escape reality. Plus, it's my social interaction time ๐Ÿคฃ

2y

To keep me occupied so I don't become productive or a psycopath

2y

Majority of the time I do play games to relax. It's a means for me to consume stories, adventure, and get inspiration from. It's a way for me to hangout with friends in a consistent basis as they live a bit far away from me. And lastly, it's fun.

2y

I game because that is how regulate my mental state. Let me calm down and let me process things at my chosen speed.

2y

Escapism. I feel free and lost in the story

2y

So there is maybe 3 parts to this. My mom who died finished streets of rage 2 when I was around 6. When she passed when I was 8 gaming was one of the only things I could enjoy. As I played I started to enjoy convoluted plots and by 18 I was the guy who was trying to find collectibles in games that explain the lore better. After I turn 18 I got around to playing the gears series and between that and some other games I ended up joining the military due to finding out some of the friends who I use to play with were unqualified. Think in retrospect there are certain games that just help me relax. I enjoy the occasional shooter but I enjoy it's, and survival games.

2y

It's a great hobby. It started out as with any other kid, just fun, but quickly turned into a social thing. I have met so many nice people through online games so now It's equal parts fun and equal parts social hangout

2y

The unshakeable core of the matter: I think I've seen all of what the real world has to offer, and none of it has called to me. Not even once. The moments I'm most alive are when I am able to reach out and pull a shadow of a shadow of something actually Neat into reality.

2y

Basically the same I love to escape intodifferent worlds, all though I also like to play racing sims and simcades because I feel they have a challenge and I love survival games for the struggle haha

2y

Honestly its my therapy. Long day of work or dealing with stress elsewhere, playing games calms me down. Escaping into an entire universe makes me happy and i can be and do anything i feel like

2y

Before it was to experience new worlds outside of the sub-suburbs of Pittsburgh, now the only thing I do is daily grind in Fallout 76 and whatever niche thing my brother is into today either being Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel or other gatcha games. Used to be a shooter game addict but I can't keep up with the newest systems as well. ๐Ÿ˜…

2y

This is absolute a vibe.

2y

I mean good stories I felt engaged in. Lost in genuine fun mechanics. Times of playing with friends side by side for those core memories. Maybe not a lot of easy options outside of that. Games are pretty amazing for a lot of reasons (at least for me). Right now it's super hot at the beach and working overnights so you tend to feel a little disconnected from the world but having a game to give some time too when you get back home is just nice to keep from the void of just existing. Just thoughts.

2y

Stories are the main thing. I obsess over them, seeing new worlds, understanding lore behind it all, meeting characters, it's all just beautiful to me. That, and customer characterization or loot. Because with ADHD the shiny things are extra fun

2y

All addictions are based on the person being uncomfortable in their current situation. Gaming included. But it does not solve the problem. Only makes it more difficult to solve. Try gym instead.

2y

Safe zone and get away from stress. Talked with a friend about the likeness with my gaming and his meditation and we found we had similar experiences. (edited)

I read books for that kind of reality shift. When I game purely for fun, it's mostly about the people I play with.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’–โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ž

2y

Sometimes for a good story, other times for the action, other times to connect to people.

2y

I love games because its challenging, i like to compete but in a good day. Destroy others, and still be humble to ask for a rematch. ๐ŸŒš

2y

It's a good way to stay is touch with the boys when off at college ๐Ÿซก

2y

Its whatvive done my whole life. I find it mundane at times but it passes time and brings me joy

2y

I play games because it is the only think that make me feel comfortable and "relaxed" from everything and everybody, and also it can make me stay away from this reality and do whatever I want in the virtual world.

2y

To pass time, 1 mi ite game time is 1 hour real time

2y

To connect with other people

2y

I game because it not only gives me comfort, but because it allows me to see and experience things that you can mostly never do in reality.

2y

I game because I like emotional stories and video games offer me an interactive way to experience them. I also like exploring and connecting with people and video games are a fun medium for that!

2y

I do the same exact thing ๐Ÿ˜…- the world out there is quite scary ๐Ÿคฃ

2y

I game because it was one of the activities me and my dad enjoyed. He was the one that introduced me to videogames. And when he was still alive he would usually watch me and brothers play videogames. Aside from that, me and my brothers actually bond over videogames, we would have different things we enjoy but when it comes to games we were all united. I remember when we were young and still together, we would have a meeting on what game we would save up and buy, and after we bought it we would set up a gaming schedule so that everyone can play. Gaming for me is more than just an activity or a past time. It is a connection I have with my family and friends. Even though I am currently living far away from all of them, when we all have time we would log in and play and converse and just have fun and connect.

2y

I play mainly to escape the monotony of life. Step into the shoes of a protagonist who's larger than life and just experience the world through their eyes for a bit.

2y

It's something I know I can enjoy on my free time and keeps me entertained

2y

Mental stimulation and fun. I believe games are really good for your brain, as long as you switch up the games regularly instead of continously playing the same game after mastering it.

2y

I like to immerse myself in other worlds, other lives. Not just be somewhere else like a movie or a book but be some*one* else, not be me, not be here.

2y

I helps me cultivate my creativity, live my fantasies, and unleash my aggression. My favorite genre are survival, RPGs, and FPS. I love creating and designing efficient bases. When I look at how efficient everything runs it makes me happy. Like looking at my clean house after cleaning for hours. I love RPGs. I like coming up with fun characters and interesting play styles. The combos and passives working together to create a massive BOOM ๐Ÿ’ฅ or an unstoppable tank. Also for the adventure and story. I could spend hours exploring new areas. Its so satisfying to me to fight another opponent of equal skill or dominating them. (edited)
