There is a game that is not strictly horror, but it does have unsettling situations and images. It is cross-platform and affordable. The game is developed in a very artistic way, especially the camera angles and the music. The game is not very long. Look for the trailer of 'Bramble the mountain king' to see if it catches your interest. 😉

Darkwood is a good one it's a top down horror game where you have limited vision and you have to hold up in buildings at night

Alien Isolation is a great horror game, if you like turn-based RPGs look outside and Fear and Hunger are games that focus a lot on body horror, quite disturbing especially Fear and Hunger but they are only on PC.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the best horror genre games ever made . There's a remake which is probably even better . And you can even play resident Evil 4 original on VR which is a whole other experience that I absolutely recommend

There's SOMA, It's More Psychological Horror But Really Good inspired also by mechanics like Amnesia, Also, Amnesia: The Bunker did a really great Job with the Creature and Is on WW1, lastly u could try SIGNALIS that's a Top view Horror game and "Conscript" that is also Based on WW1
