Can somebody help me in IMVU?

This is such a noob post, and I'm sorry 🙃 But I'm not sure what it is that I'm doing wrong. I assume since it's a popular game, there's probably some experienced people on here. I'd just like my character to look more like me. I'm in the shop, looking for "scalers" (I'm still confused by that), lip stick color, even more realistic features like a round nose, a slightly chubby belly, etc - but I have no idea what I'm doing. All that's available for the characters either looks the same, isn't applied right, or has a big change - like the entire skin tone changes. However, a quick Google search shows drastically different looking characters, etc - so I'm clearly missing something. I tried searching how to find features and such, but I'm still so confused. If you're a pro with IMVU and would like to help me, I'd greatly appreciate it..I'm just looking for simple stuff at the moment 🙃 (edited)
