Buying new consoles at launch. Is it worth it?
Launch consoles are pretty much test units at this point, and a revision is bound to happen early on in the console’s life. In particular, for the Switch 2, I’m expecting a revision for the battery life, considering the OG Switch had it’s own battery revision. Or fixes for whatever other faults are discovered by early adopters. FOMO doesn’t work on me, and I don’t want to spend money on something that will have a better version in a year or less. This is also when everyone cries about there not being any new games to play on your new console. Regardless of gaming company, those complaints are inevitable. I have no problem waiting, or maybe just skipping the Switch 2 all together, depending on what we learn about it. (edited)

It depends on if it’s worth it for you. I guarantee you that within a year they are going to make a switch 2 OLED as the original is not OLED. I have a switch OLED. I bought the series X on launch. I don’t regret it because that’s the console I play the most. There was no series X pro or anything like that. All they did was increase the SSD space In later models But I already had an expansion card So I already have a 2 TB Xbox series X like the newer models. I don’t think Switch 2 Is worth it for the price All things considered, I barely play my switch OLED. I only got the switch because of Certain games that I could only play on that console But even now I don’t play it a lot. I guarantee you there will be A newer model of the switch 2 OLED coming out within a year or two.
