Watching videos of people who have suffered strokes is a wake-up call. I don’t want to gamble with my health and end up paying the price later. I especially don’t want to become so dependent that other people have to take care of me if I can help it. So it’s time to get serious again: exercise consistently, eat better, and put sweets back where they belong as an occasional treat every couple of months instead of a regular habit.

At first it seems difficult but it's all a matter of habit. I also want to get rid of the sweets.😩

Healthy, animal based fats are good for you and contain lots of fat soluble vitamins and micronutrients. Humans are evolved to get most of our calories from such fats, this new carb heavy diet is relatively new to us since the development of agriculture. The key with sweets is to stop with processed junk food. Instead of a twinkie have some honey and fruit. If you really can't give up chocolate then atleast find one with simple ingredients from a brand that you can trust instead of eating the junk in the grocery store. You especially want to avoid things like seed oils (canola, vegetable) which are not good for you atall. Oh and artificial sweetener. (edited)
