Hidden History at TMII
Last week, my cousin and I spent the day at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and visited one of its museums—the Indonesian Military Museum. The building itself is massive, shaped like a fortress, and impossible to ignore. Surprisingly, despite TMII being crowded that day, the museum was almost empty. It was just the two of us and one family of four. The scale of the place was overwhelming, and its poorly maintained condition made it feel eerie, so we only wandered around the first floor. Still, it felt like a hidden gem—quiet, peaceful, yet powerful in its own way. A place that holds so much history, waiting to be noticed. Hopefully, more people will become aware of and appreciate their own history.
