#OTD World War II: Battle of Berlin 

The Soviet 1st Belorussian Front and 1st Ukrainian Front continued to tighten the encirclement, severing the last link between the German IX Army and the city. Elements of the 1st Ukrainian Front continued to move westward and started to engage the German XII Army moving towards Berlin.

#OTD World War II: AH appoints General Helmuth Weidling as commander of the Berlin Defense Area, replacing Colonel (Oberst) Ernst Kaether.

#OTD World War II: After sundown, Albert Speer (Pictured) bid his final farewell to AH. He admitted to AH that he had sabotaged his scorched earth policies, and AH forgave him for disobeying the order. Speer toured the Chancellery in Berlin, Germany for the last time before leaving for Hamburg, Germany.

An independence referendum was held in Eritrea, at the time part of Ethiopia, between 23 and 25 April 1993. The result was 99.83% in favour, with a 98.5% turnout. Independence from Ethiopia was declared on 27 April.

#OTD World War II: In Berlin, Germany, AH noted that, when Germany would have lost the war, Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring (Pictured) would be the better person to negotiate peace terms. Göring, who was in Berchtesgaden in southern Germany, was made aware of this fact. After consulting Hans Lammers and other senior government officials, Göring carefully noted that, according to AH's decree of 29 June 1941, Göring would take power over Germany if AH could not respond by midnight. This message would be distorted by Martin Bormann as a sign of Göring's thirst for power. AH originally ordered Göring to surrender all of his positions, but Bormann would convince AH to issue an arrest order.

#OTD World War II: Adolf Galland (Pictured) announced to the pilots of German Jagdverband 44 at München (Munich), Germany that the war was effectively lost, and he would only accept volunteers to continue fighting from now on. All of his men stepped forward as volunteers.

Medical history anomaly museum in Philly for our 12 yr anniversary! There are still two people alive today using an iron lung. For those who don't know. These were used to help polio patient's manually breathe! Thank god for vaccines.

We had no need for prisons or police.
 There were no homeless or hungry.
 We didn’t pay taxes. 
The women selected our chiefs and deposed the ones who displeased them. 
It was a beautiful egalitarian, matrilineal hunter/warrior society.

I had nothing to do today, so I opened the photo album on my phone and found this old photo. I feel like time flies by so fast. Five years passed in the blink of an eye.

The 150 hectare land was transformed into a stage for art, recreation and educational facilities for visitors of various ages. Basically this Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a description of Indonesia.
